Wide open spaces beckon
Come breath
Come sing
The harsh cold wind blows in the distance
A reminder
The familiar
A faint voice
Weakened by my awakening

Now a distance memory
I can still feel it
I can still taste the hopeless
It’s dark damp
Moving farther and farther away
From my present
From my reality

Hope is strong
Hope is a rock
That holds me fast
But fragile
So fragile
Still in my heart

It holds me
Keeps me
Calls me
So strong

A friend
A good friend
Always there
Even when I can’t see
Especially then

An anchor that holds me
Through the storm
Through the dark
The torrent
The howling winds of adversity
The screaming doubt

Hope alive
Always alive
Even in what feels like death
What looks like the end
A new beginning                                                                                                                                      Resurrection
